Sheila Caldwell has been singing and performing
since early childhood. A classically-trai ned vocalist, she studied voice for seven years and toured as a Christian music artist, appearing as the host and featured singer with The Anderson Dinner Cruises in Florida for five years. She has also performed leading roles in
musicals such as South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Boyfriend.“People often laugh with disbelief when I tell them I really didn’t begin talking much until I was three years of age. While my parents couldn’t get me to
say much, they could get me to sing. My first song? An old song from WWI, “K-K-K-Katy”! By grade school, I was singing on the radio with my mother - singing has always been my first love. Growing up, I couldn’t wait for Saturday nights! I would be transfixed during “The Lawrence Welk Show,” listening to how the performers sang their songs, and dreaming of growing up to sing the Standards. I would
gather neighborhood kids into my backyard while I sang songs atop my swing set by artists like Judy Garland & Doris Day. I am so excited about finally performing the songs I have loved for 40 years! You don’t truly appreciate these ladies until you try their
songs … they are truly DIVAS!” A native of Alabama, Sheila has made her home in Rock Hill, South Carolina since 1994. She is married to Bill Caldwell and has two children, one grandchild and two spoiled dogs. In
addition to singing, Sheila is a published writer and photographer, as well as an award-winning television and radio writer/producer. |
