Sheila
Caldwell
has been singing since early childhood. A classically-trained
vocalist, she studied voice for seven years and toured as
a Christian music artist, appearing as the host and featured singer with
The Anderson Dinner Cruises in Florida for five years. She has also
performed leading roles in musicals such as South Pacific,
Fiddler on the Roof, and The Boyfriend.
“People often
laugh with disbelief when I tell them I really didn’t begin talking much
until I was three years of age. While my parents couldn’t get me to say
much, they could get me to sing. My first song? An old song from WWI,
“K-K-K-Katy”! By grade school, I was singing on the radio with my mother -
singing has always been my first love."
The concept of Divas
through the Decades was born out of a life-long love and appreciation
for the music that is so much of history. Sheila also wanted to
perform the music as a reminiscence for some but to introduce and preserve
A native of Alabama, Sheila has made her home in Rock Hill, South Carolina since 1994. She is married to Bill Caldwell and has two children, two grandchildren and two spoiled dogs. In addition to singing and volunteering in the community, Sheila is a published writer and photographer, as well as an award-winning television and radio writer/producer. She is a professional Voice-over artist featured on many local and regional projects as well as internationally-syndicated documentaries.
